at the very end of 08.. i got back into skateboarding.. and procceded to get a mild concussion. landed on my face. knocked myself out. from there it was all good. but at the end of july. right when i was feeling good.. i broke my foot. so month later i am trying to get back into shape.. but its getting cold.. and.. i tear a tendon in my right knee.
now i await some hopefully minor surgery, and back to rehab. to say the least my expectation on a skateboard have decreased. as i head toward (but not at) my mid 30s.. here is what i would like to learn in 2010.. on my skateboard.

its that time of year. its 4pm. its getting dark, and is 29 degrees outside.
my knee i injured 2 WEEKS BACK! seems to be only getting worse, so its off to the doctor, with figured crossed. this injury has held me from really digging into skating the new Etnies Barge sneakers. witch i wanted to write about.. you know.. by now. not gonna happen as i can barely walk.
i had just started into a set of autobahn dual core wheels. that i was gonna compare to spitfires new clear cut, dual core wheels.
also we were gonna shoot a short promo for open. but, i cant push on a board. so, its not getting done untill the knee gets sorta also. its sorta amazing how all my plans rotated around the idea of my skating. luckly i’ll be taking an extended vacation in VA. it will still be cold. but not this cold.. hopefully. witch will probably be good for my knee.
when i get back. i’ll add the new OPEN shirts to the website, if you wanna buy one. it would really help us out. oh, and you get a fresh shirt. we think.
so happy all this time of year stuff.

shhh, its the thing

well crap. i was trying to work on a bunch of product review. like some satori wheels. some autobahn dual core wheels. some vans AV3s, and Etnies Barge (shoes).. and some bearings.
but i am once again injured, and have been limping for a week straight. plus! it’s below freezing here in NYC. so.. yeah. my skating is sorta on hold for sure. in the mean time, OPEN is planning, and getting ready to shoot some promos. those will hopefully come post the holidays. along with some welcome ad’s and videos to some of the first people on the OPEN team. we got Tshirts being made, and new designs getting ready for spring. i know there is still lots of winter left. but lets be realistic. you can skate in the winter on the east coast.. sometimes. its not an everyday thing. your boards, and shoes all of a sudden start lasting a bit longer over the winter months. or i’m a wuss.
here’s a graphic of the tshirt btw. once all the homies have theirs. i’ll put the remaining ones up for sale via HB and OPEN.

the xbox 360 is

a total piece of crap. as far of quality of product. games, awesome. when the thing works its great. onto my 2nd xbox360 and it only boots up maybe 1/4 of the time. seriously… microsoft should be heavily fined for who broke ass this piece of gear is.

well here it is. i’m finally in a place where i can start selling OPEN boards. currently they are only available online, and to people in the USA. i wish that wasn’t the case. but international shipping it death.

beyond that, we are working on some welcome ads, and videos, for people to be announced later. we’re excited.
BTW. the decks are made by our friends at Pennswood. pressed, and screen printing in Pennsylvania. some of the best wood i have skated. no gimmicks. just quality IMO.

stocked

so finally, the 2nd OPEN deck is done. it’s not the one we promised. and we can’t be sorry enough to everyone about that. but it’s one of those things you can’t undo. pennswood send me a couple decks to check out here in PDX. can i withhold from hooking one up? even though i am on a ian board that is more then good still? only time will tell.

when i get back to NY. ill be hitting up shops, some distro’s, and will get an online store up.

basics

so i’m just going to continue on with my random ramblings from PDX. since it’s only me and myself, i have way to much time to think. i don’t think i’ve talked since friday.

there’s a few things i can’t figure out. some basic stuff. it could just be the neighborhood i’m staying in. i can not find an ATM. and i’ve been looking! non.. im use to ATM signs all over the place. i can not find a liquor store. places have cheap wine. but thats it. lots of beer though. and its crazy cheap. like 1.50$ for some blue ribbon, from a tap! huh? anyways. beer is cheaper then soda here. i think gatoraide might be more expensive then in NYC. weird.

delays

where am i? (i don’t need a screw yet) here i am. my foot is still broken. really close to having to have a screw put in. ewwww.
open sk wise. we are still waiting on sougwens deck to get done. then they will go out to distro, and so forth. otherwise, we are working on custom bolts, tshirts, and lots of stickers!
a small web update has happened. but its small to say the least. since my foot is broken, not much is happening. and i am shooting all my film analog. so once i finish off my last roll. the i can make a full report on itoshin from lesque skateboards short visit to nyc. maybe i’ll have some new stuff to post!! keep staying in touch.. we’ll get this shit rolling sooner then later

what’s the deal?

indeed. whats the deal. well its hard to find things to post about when you basicly stay in one place all the time. lets call it broken foot syndrome. i could just repost other things. but, you could just follow my twitter feed. witch is also shown on the site. so, sorta no neeed for that.

whats the deal with this OPEN skateboards thing. i follow your twitter and keep seeing “spy shots”.
yeah, there is an OPEN deck out there. and yeah, they are in the wild. here’s the deal. there is also another OPEN deck, that is not done, and not in the wild. no one’s fault. this is just how manufacturing works.
i don’t want to make either deck available until both are available. if you’ve seen an OPEN deck actually out in the wilds of NYC. consider yourself lucky (?). a few people are out there skating them already.
