when i get back to NY. ill be hitting up shops, some distro’s, and will get an online store up.

Posted: June 1st, 2009 | Author: happybattle | Filed under: pictures | Tags: BQE | Comments Offi hate to make the 30s sound old. but in skateboarding. shit gets hurnt in weird ways, and the recovery takes longer. big ledges are hot, but are crazy hard to learn on. so, some people have started work on a new, “open sk, let’s pratice ledge” at BQE. this will be all mumbo jumbo for people outside of the nyc area.
here some snaps of the work so far.
so it’s about 1 foot + high.. with a 1/4″ thick piece of STEEL, 2″ x 2″ on the side. it will be epic fun if not one prys off the edging tonight.. fucking.. skaters.. i just want something nice!!

super busy, and park dept. / security all over it. though they didn’t seem to care till some lady with something up her ass cared. hopefully they’ll post the footage. its all on tape.

first day impressions

this isn’t a review. just a 1 day impression. i got some of these new “Ace” trucks. “02 lows” just the other day, so i hooked them right up. i was not happy with the silver lows i was riding. the “lows” are higher then all the other lows i have ridden. but got use to that right quick. maybe if i didn’t use a 1/8″ rise. but i do. right off the bat, these trucks carve like all the ways you dream, i have not had to adjust them at all, even after a whole day of use. perfect out of the box for me. what i liked about the silver was the etxra pushed up base plate. so i kept sticking on my nose slides.
just have to get use to that, i’ll live. they grind real nice, and carve real nice, feel really solid, look well built. and are mad light. more to come i suppose.
white is not the ideal tshirt color
Posted: May 13th, 2009 | Author: happybattle | Filed under: other, pictures, skateboard | Tags: dirt, lessons, slam, tshirt | Comments Offmaybe my brain is still messed up from the wip it took into the ground this afternoon. maybe the pain reliever is doing its thing, from the loss of skin from my back. and all for what.. a failed backside 50 50.. or is it a frontside 5050. at some point people changed this. anyways. small curb.. but the board slips out.. i fall back and over the curb. butt. back.. off edge.. head.. i watched my glasses bounce off my face. i was done. (though no really. i did the trick later.. just so i don;t get psyched out)
the lesson on this. white t-shirts are the stupiest idea. most of the swag i get. tshirt wise. is on white.. white t-shirt. one spill and this thing might be done.
it was clean when i put it on too. yes yes. i realize falling is part of the game. but i don’t normally roll in the dirt. and smash my head so i just lay there. so from now on i highly recommend to everyone. don’t wear white t-shirts. nobody actually wins. ‘im down a shirt, and i have a massive head ache.
