excuses. i know, who needs them? they are 100% bullshit. so here i am. it’s been raining almost non-stop here in the NYC area. and i messed up my toe. so not only is it a wash. it hurnts when i skate. there are no indoor skateparks in NYC. under expressways are our parks. anyways. i could have just filled this up with post from other blogs? would that work for people? i dunno. so much good stuff already. i guess i can atleast post some links.. lets do that.
and don’t forget to support your local skate company, and shops no matter where you are this weekend.
someone near you is making great quality skateboards. skate those. fuck the major labels. and sneaker wise. do not buy nike sb. its bullshit. all of it. anything, but. atleast do it proper in some airforce ones, or old jordans. no nike SB. yell it.
also globe’s “united by fate 5″ has gone live. once you get past the crap “chat” part. (like the whole first half). it also is really cool. much more.. artsy style. looks like a team pain warehouse. predictable animal collective sound track. come on companies. think for yourselfs! nicely shot though. lots of really cool stuff.
go skateboarding day is coming up. i will buy a new board for said occasion. who should i rep? i say hopps.. what do you think. the most votes win. thats who i’ll rep.
and old fav of mine, and something i should of written about a long time ago on HB, is COS/MES, and their satanic skatepark. COS/MES is a skateboard, and art, and music making collective from japan. they created an art installation, and original soundtrack for the show.. all based on skateboarding. they are skateboarders. the soundtrack is amazing, and they self released it to niche success in the new disco / slow disco scene. and have since released some 7″ of new tracks. but no new footage or shows of skating.

#1.. koston signed to Nike SB.. obvious. who cares. um.. am i the only one whos never seen anything by him thats impressed me? and now i think he’s sorta lazy. just taking that nike money. im sure nike makes quality shoes.. and charge you way more then is reasonable. but they are some ugly shit. the s.janiski’s look ok. but, i mean. they are just van rip offs with a swoosh.
[gallery link="file" columns="2"]i love to make things. it isn’t an option. or something to look into. i like the whole process. from concept to refining, being anal, then manufacturing. paying for the manufactureing, and getting the final product. i love all these things. i AM the dreamer of the dreams. but sometimes i do things that are not mass produced or re-broadcast. in this cast, i made a OPEN logo board, one of a kind. never to see the day of bulk daylight. a one off for JL at project bushwick. i hate to sound all douche like. but i think 100% bamboo decks is the future. bamboosk8 is doing an awesome job of pushing things forward, and you will continue to see limited edition 100% bamboo decks from OPEN.
